PRINTING INFORMATION
Printing Methods: DTFlex vs DTG
ThreadKindUK products are printed using Printful’s DTFlex method as standard. This page explains the difference between DTFlex and DTG, and how to request DTG printing before ordering.
How We Print Your Products
At ThreadKindUK, our products are printed and fulfilled through Printful. As standard, our clothing is produced using Printful’s DTFlex print method where available.
We use DTFlex because it gives strong colour, sharp detail, clean print edges, and a durable finish across a wide range of clothing products.
DTFlex vs DTG: What’s the Difference?
OUR STANDARD METHOD
DTFlex
DTFlex is the standard print method used for ThreadKindUK products where available. It gives bold colour, sharp detail, clean print edges, and a durable finish across a wide range of clothing.
Best for:
• Bold artwork
• Bright colours
• Detailed designs
• Hoodies and T-shirts
• Clean, modern print finishes
AVAILABLE BY REQUEST
DTG
DTG stands for direct-to-garment printing. Instead of using a transfer film, the ink is printed directly into the garment fibres, which can create a softer feel and a more natural finish.
Best for:
• Softer print feel
• Subtler designs
• Cotton garments
• A more vintage-style finish
• Customers who prefer less raised texture
The Simple Difference
DTFlex usually gives a sharper, brighter, and more defined print.
DTG usually gives a softer feel with a more natural, slightly vintage-style finish.
Neither method is automatically better for every product. They simply create different results depending on the garment, colour, fabric, and design.
THREADKINDUK STANDARD
Printed Using DTFlex as Standard
Unless stated otherwise, ThreadKindUK products are printed using DTFlex as standard.
This helps keep our designs bold, clear, and consistent across our clothing range. Because many of our prints are colourful, detailed, or designed to work across both light and dark garments, DTFlex is usually the best fit for our products.
REQUEST OPTION
Want to Request DTG Printing?
DTG printing may be available by request on selected products.
If you would prefer DTG instead of our standard DTFlex print method, please contact us before placing your order so we can check if it is available for your chosen product, colour, size, and design.
PLEASE NOTE
Important Print Difference Notice
If you request DTG printing instead of DTFlex, the final product may look or feel different from the product images shown on our website.
Possible differences may include a softer print feel, a less bold colour finish, a more natural or vintage-style look, slight differences in print texture, and different results depending on garment colour and fabric.
By requesting DTG, you understand that the finished product may not look exactly the same as the standard DTFlex version.
